Artistic collaboration by Simon Cardwell - Photographer and Stuart McLachlan - Paper Artist.
Both are now working together on various projects to create a new unique style of image.

Tomorrow, When The War Began.
Movie poster I shot has finally been released. This movie promises to be great. The Marsden books are fantastic and much loved... can't wait.
That shoot was full on 12 hours many set ups but a great day, best fun I've had for ages... love those intense days shooting and thinking on your feet.
Shooting for Bondi Beach Bag Co.
Working on this seasons look book for Bondi Beach Bag Co started out being a near disaster with the rain/clouds/etc but we managed to turn the day into a great shooting day, we shot sooo much I can't believe it..... The models Sarah T and Anna Louse from Chadwicks were great and kept it together for 12 hours of "put this on take that off", Samantha Theron our stylist extraordinaire put the looks together with flair and ease.....

Beauty shoot
The idea was to create a sculptural / beauty story high-lighting the jewelry and showing Olga's beauty as well.

Purple Beauty shoot
Felicia Yong and I shot this story with Alicja from Chic Models. The idea came from wanting to use a colour being Purple. Love the look and feel of this, Felicia is a great makeup artist and I love working with her a lot, great sense of colour.

Art Photography Project
In January I will start shooting for a special project, this project will really be a fantastic shooting experience, it has to do with some topics that I have been interested in for many years. I sound a bit vague I know but I have to keep it close as they are many people involved and I've signed an non disclosure agreement, so what can I say...... I will let you know when possible.....
Key Art Photography
I was contracted to photograph the specials and key art / poster images for the Omni Lab / Paramount Pictures', film Tomorrow When The War Began, it was huge day of shooting and really the most fun I've had for ages, I love the intensity of shooting like that, I had a really great team and we put together some great images and lighting!
Key Art / Unit Photography
I am also working on the children's television production for the award winning producer of Blink Films, shooting Penelope K - By The Way. Michael is really fantastic at putting together these productions, they're so much fun, colourful and really interesting to work on.

I shot this beauty story a couple of weeks ago for Covermagazine.biz it was great working with Sarah Todd (Makeup) and Shaun Casey (Hair) both are very creative and we seem to be on the same page which works. Just love shooting beauty, it's like sculpture with light, and I do like the colour in these shots.

Shooting beauty / portrait photography for The Makeup Technicians well it's always fun and can be challenging as the students are beginners and it's good to help with their foundling careers.

I have been photographing unit stills for OmniLab and Paramount on the production Tomorrow When The War Began. I love shooting on set it can be so fast that there is no time to think, just to go for it, composing and shooting without thinking, great fun.

Unit Key art and Specials Photography
Returning from New Zealand where I was photographing unit and special and all the key art for Predicament a New Zealand feature film. It was cold and we shot many night scenes, the reward was seeing the shots and great work from comedians made the jobs go so quickly, I miss the place, but hope to be back sometime next year.

Unit Photography
The Guardians Of Ga'Hoole for Warner Bros and Animal Logic. I was asked to photograph all the actors who were doing the voices here in Sydney, it's a great project and some really fantastic actors. Watching these people work is always so inspiring, and always leads me to want to photograph more interesting portraits, just love working with actors/people who are at the top of their field, and watching them work you know why they are.
A Model Daughter : The Caroline Burn Story. This was such an interesting project, finding out all the nitty gritty details was fascinating. The actors were amazing dealing with such characters. Lisa Scott the producer has been a friend for many years now and asks me to work with her on her projects, she seems to attract great and interesting film/tv that rate very high. Looking forward to the next one.

Mao's Last Dancer:
I have been working closely with the producer from Mao's Last Dancer, Jane Scott she is really an amazing person to work with, very creative and inspiring, I feel I always do my best work around people like that. I photographed all the unit photography, specials and key art for this great Australian film, due for release in Oct 2009.
"We flew to London to shoot the poster, Chi dances for The Birmingham Ballet, it was a great shoot with some striking images of Chi very dramatic and emotive. Which is really what I love doing.
